Not AI but this will significantly speed up the manual process and is a good all round productivity booster in general. For this task (and you can have multiple presets for other tasks) I’d have the left and right inner buttons assigned to the Première Pro keyboard shortcuts for previous and next clip respectively, the centre button to play/pause, one of the outer ones for the export shortcut and the jog shuttle for the jog shuttle. Workflow would be hit the button to move to next clip, play/pause button and jog/shuttle to locate and then export key to capture. Rinse and repeat moving to the head of the next clip each time. Nothing you couldn’t do with mangling your fingers to do the shortcuts but far, far more ergonomic for such a repetitive task. As I say, they are just generally useful devices for everything editing related. And not a bank balance drainer at £65 either. Also, as it’s based on driving keyboard shortcuts it can move with you to different applications. https://contour-design.co.uk/products/multimedia-controller-xpress

It also benefits from having IS.

Another range example I did with it here, this time on a GX80. Its a very powerful combo but, despite the 35-350 being compact for what it is, when it is mounted on the GX80 it is all a little bit ...

I have this lens and this is a simple range example from one spot that I did with it for someone on here many moons ago. It is actually more like a 70-200 f2.8 size wise for carrying but that is down to it being a push pull design which isn’t exactly great for smooth continuous zoom shots. But is ideal for practising the trombone.

Zeiss ZX1 full frame Android prototype, let's repair
BTM_Pix replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
Or a full frame 36 megapickshel shensor as its known there. -
Nice is doing a lot of heavy lifting there. But if people don't mind log shots of mainly grey buildings under grey skies in Salford then have at it !

This was introduced last week and offers a raft of new features but the one that seems to be catching everyone's eye is the (paid for) ARRI LogC3 option. https://www.panasonic.com/uk/corporate/news/articles/panasonic-introduces-extensive-new-firmware-updates-for-its-lumix-s-series-cameras-s1rii-s1ii-and-s1iie.html Surprised there hasn't been a discussion about this already on here. I'm guessing that could be that no one has yet bought those camera types or is too busy wondering why they are spending so much effort looking after a cat that isn't their cat but has just turned up and convinced itself that it is now indeed their cat to be discussing camera firmware updates. Or, in my case, both. A bit of a caveat is that it doesn't work in RAW...

I haven’t forgotten, I’m just a bit of a lazy bastard. I’m now in sunnier climes but normal overcast drizzle will be resumed when I get back in about a month so I will do it then. With the new PYXIS monitor upgrade for the Studio 4K G2 it might well be shot on that.
-
It was indeed. Was waiting for the firmware update before buying the monitor obviously but won’t be back in range of a dealership for the next month so it will have to wait. No, it’s the Micro Studio G2 so it is to all intents and purposes a cinema camera too just that it was lacking some easy control and monitoring for standalone use which has now been addressed with this monitor. Not completely because it is still missing the BLE control but it is now more or less a modular P4K. Which everyone claimed to absolutely need but judging by how little interest this camera gets didn’t translate too well into reality. Like Panasonic’s box versions of the GH5 and S5 didn’t either.

Nikon F with full as native like electronic control is the big one for me. FujiFilm X mount is also available now with full electronic control. Limited to APS-C by the nature of the lenses of course. Dumb mount MFT is also available. Again, limited image coverage but OK up to APS-C as most of the MFT lenses you'd want to use offer that wider coverage. In theory, there is enough space for someone to do a Hasselblad XCD adapter but no one has actually done it as far as i'm aware. There are a couple of other interesting ones between the Z and the RF as well, most notably Canon's own EF-M and of course the RF mount itself !

I don’t know how you can say that with a straight face. The BFI have just published a report saying that 130,000 films and scripts have been used without permission or accreditation. It is all about violating copyright. https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2025/jun/09/ai-plundering-scripts-poses-direct-threat-to-uk-screen-sector-says-bfi

I think you should. I think you’d be pleasantly surprised at the degree of enhancement the accumulated knowledge of these intervening years brings. It’s a camera that has always appealed to me and I’ve been waiting patiently to pick a used one up for £200 for years now. Still waiting ! Which is likely a testament to how many people have held on to them and are still getting great results .

The question you asked was “Is it possible to record only Log without the LUT with the G9 MKII ? And how? I haven't found it.” That was the question I was answering. The question you should’ve been asking was if it was possible to record Log without the LUT whilst using a monitoring LUT. For that you need to use the view assist.
-
Turn the Real Time LUT feature off to not bake it in.

No thanks 😂

Action cam / 360 / GoPro etc. thread
BTM_Pix replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Gimbal / DJI / Drone / Action Cameras
This is not so much about the quality of the image but more to do with the quality of the posts on here. Historically, the action cameras have produced a LOT of spam on here either directly from new members setting up accounts to pimp them or some very suspicious stuff from existing members. Having a single repository for them makes sense to me in the same way that there is one for lenses. If people have an interest in new developments (as indeed I do myself) then there is a specific thread to subscribe to without numerous individual ones popping up that then have to be curated and assessed. Of course you could argue that this could then be true for a lot of topics but the historical context of dubious spammy shite for those is different. -
Oh look, other sites are still shamelessly lifting content from this forum. They could've at least credited you @stephen for doing the legwork and taking a chance on buying one.

David Lynch auction including Sony / Pentax / Canon cameras
BTM_Pix replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
Only absolutely mad gear addicts bought them. Isn’t that right @Andrew Reid ? -
Not sure what the situation is with Sigma and the Z mount. They do three of their fast compact APS-C primes in Z mount but not the zooms or full frame. They do more in RF mount but, again, no full frame. You could speculate that pressure from both their L mount partners and their sensor supplier keeps them out of supplying the big two with full frame lenses. In the case of Nikon it’s a bit moot as with the Megadap you can just buy the e-mount versions anyway and have them as near as dammit native anyway.

The ironing board would certainly help when creating a flat profile.
